Jacques Cytrynowicz

Jacques Cytrynowicz was born in a small village near Lodz, in Poland. After working in mines in Germany, he arrived in Paris in 1920. There, he lived in poverty and worked with the sculptors Bourdelle and Aronson. 

His sculpture is monumental, just like the artist was. He exhibited at official Salons.

In 1941, he was arrested at the demarcation line. He was deported on 27 July 1942. Convoy number 11. 

Murdered by the Nazis.
